3 weeks from today I should officially be done with chemo (assuming everything goes according to plan). Yes, you read that correctly...3 weeks! I am out of monthly count downs and into weeks. 3 weeks is totally doable, and I will rock this! Have I mentioned I'm down to 3 weeks?
Sure, when I say 3 weeks, this doesn't account for the amount of time between my last treatment and when I have my next PET scan. Nor does it account for the weeks leading up to radiation if we decide to go that route, but you know what? I'm feeling proud of myself right now that I've come this far, and have done so well with treatments with minimal side effects. People keep telling me, "this seems like it has gone by so fast, but I suppose not to you" but honestly I'd have to agree! Where has the time gone?
These two pictures were taken just 10 months apart from each other. I almost don't even recognize myself as the blondie I once was.
Even though it wasn't that long ago that I shaved my head (December 2), it feels like I've had my hair like this for quite some time. I guess I'm just used to it now, and I must admit that it has been nice not worrying about all the maintenance with the blow drying, curling, and coloring of the hair, or the frustrations of having a bad hair day. Don't worry! I'm not going to go all Sinead O'Connor on you and keep this "do" I'm currently sporting. My hair is actually growing pretty fast!! See the creepy close up picture below for proof. If you compare the picture above from December 2nd to today, it's quite different already. It's kind of in one of many (I'm sure) awkward stages right now. It's not long enough or thick enough to lay flat quite yet so it just sticks straight up! Kind of reminds me of a baby bird. See the resemblance?? :)
